POLLUTION CONTROL DRIVE
This activity has continued with the support of some members of the association. Massive plastic and garbage clearance drives are undertaken. Huge amounts of waste and polluting matter is cleared and disposed of. The municipal council co-operates only in clearing the mountain of fifth collected through this effort. Major points such as Arthur's Seat, Lodwick Point, Kate Point, Bombay Point, The Lake and other areas. The prime object is to rid our beautiful town of the plastic and other poisons and secondly of course for the holidaying visitors to enjoy their visit to our hill station.
RESTORATION OF SITES
Without the full co-operation of the Department of Forest officials, this would not have been possible.
We have "adopted" the Bombay (Sunset) Point. Do pay it a visit, if you have not already done so. The ground has been leveled & rolled, the old run down central structure fully repaired and painted. Stone parapets reshaped. The road leading to the point cleared and the surface patched up of pot holes by the Municipal Council, through pressure from an external source.
Landwick Point: Some years ago through a single handed effort of our pastresident W. Dias (deceased), the run down monument was completly restored. However, through passage of time it was again on the road to decline. We have fully brought back the monument to its original state. The stone boundaries reconstructed, Steel pipe railings ( which protect visitors from falling over into the valley) fully redone for the safety of visitors. Sign Boards erected and dustbins colleagues Kailash and Richard Dias, this would not have come about.

Adoption of Mumbai Point by the Hotel Association
The MHRA had taken up cleanliness drive through the month of Feb/March/April collected piles of garbage from the point of forests of Arthur's Seat, Lodwick Point, Elphinstone Point, Bombay Point, Venna Lake etc. In cooperation with the forest department & the municipal council. The Bombay Point has been adopted by the MHRA in a trial basis from the forest to mountain and create awareness about the importance of keeping our Mahabaleshwar clean and green. Dustbins have been fixed, boards have been fixed conveying the message and the seating benches have been painted.
The MHRA has brought about an awareness amongst the stall owners at various points, the local guides, the taxi owners, about cleanliness and the ecology of Mahabaleshwar. Also the ill effects of burning and throwing of garbage in the forest & valley’s was made known to them. The response has been positive and encouraging.
